Terms of Use
By using Effect.app and the Effect.app Figma plugin (collectively, the “Service”), you agree to the terms below. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Usage Rights
You are free to:
- Use the app and plugin for personal or commercial projects
- Export and distribute visuals created with the tool
- Share results or incorporate them into your designs
User Accounts
You can use the Free tier without creating an account. An Effect.app account becomes required only if you upgrade to a Pro (paid) plan or wish to sync presets across devices.
An account stores your saved presets and the billing details associated with any active subscription. We do not store or retain your export content. We may retain limited technical logs (for example, export counts and timestamps) to prevent abuse, support billing, and handle refund requests.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity conducted under your account. By creating or using an account, you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy.
Subscription Billing
Effect.app offers several subscription tiers billed monthly or yearly. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled (see “Cancellation” below). All prices and billing intervals are displayed during checkout.
Cancellation
Subscriptions are managed and cancelled via our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy. You can cancel at any time using the link in your purchase-confirmation email or via the Lemon Squeezy customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid term; no further charges will be made after that date.
Refund & Cancellation Policy
Standard rule: payments for the current billing period are non-refundable. We do not automatically refund unused days of an active month or year.
First billing period (your first paid month): we may, at our sole discretion, issue a refund under the rules below:
- Within 14 days of the initial charge: a full refund may be granted.
- After 14 days (but before the next renewal): a refund may still be granted, but a processing fee of up to $6 may be deducted to cover payment processing costs.
Renewal charges (second billing period and later): we may, at our sole discretion, issue a refund only when all of the following apply:
- the request is made within 3 days of the most recent renewal charge; and
- you have made no exports/downloads during that new billing period.
If a renewal refund is approved, it will be reduced by a processing fee of up to $6. If more than 3 days have passed since the renewal charge, or any export/download occurred in that billing period, the renewal charge is non-refundable.
Send refund requests from your purchase email to support@effect.app with your order number. We reply within five business days. Approved refunds are credited to the original payment method and may take 5–10 business days to appear.
This policy does not limit any mandatory rights you may have under applicable law. Where a fee deduction is prohibited, we will not deduct it.
EU Right of Withdrawal
If you are an EU consumer, you acknowledge that access to the digital Service begins immediately after purchase and therefore waive the 14-day statutory withdrawal right under the EU Consumer Rights Directive. This waiver is explicitly presented during checkout.
Limitations
- You may not reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code.
- You may not use the tool to generate or promote illegal, hateful, or misleading content.
Warranty Disclaimer
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee availability, output quality, or fitness for a particular purpose.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Effect.app is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use the Service, including data loss or project interruption.
Changes
We may update these terms as the product evolves. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
