Levels and blur prepare the source for Emboss. Noise, sharpening, contrast, Halftone Screen, and exposure then build the rough print-like finish.

Can I change the apparent lighting?

Adjust the Emboss material and pose controls, shadow direction, and shadow strength. Those settings influence how the relief is shaded before later grain and print texture are applied.

How do I make the surface less gritty?

Reduce Noise strength and the halftone contribution, then ease sharpening. Keep the Emboss layer active so the relief remains while its surrounding texture becomes quieter.

Does it create physical embossing or a 3D mesh?

It produces a shaded visual treatment of the image. It does not create a physical embossing die, depth mesh, or manufacturing-ready relief file.
