What makes this look spray-painted?

Gaussian Blur softens detail, Layer Mix adds a surface texture, and Gradient Map replaces the tonal palette. Together they create the appearance of dispersed paint on a textured ground.

Can I choose the paint colors?

Yes. Edit the Gradient Map stops for the dark, middle, and light parts of the image. Keep enough difference between neighboring stops for the subject to remain legible.

How do I keep the edges sharper?

Reduce Gaussian Blur strength or opacity, then adjust the texture layer. Start with a crisp silhouette if you want a stencil-like result; the preset cannot recover details missing from a blurry source.

Does it create a cuttable stencil?

It produces a visual image treatment. For a simpler two-tone starting point, try Threshold, then prepare any physical stencil geometry separately in your design workflow.
