Frequently Asked Questions

How do I apply Damaged JPEG online?

Open the Damaged JPEG preset, add your photo or video, and adjust the loaded effect layers. Preview at your intended output size before exporting.

Does this damage my original file?

No. The effect changes the rendered appearance. Exporting creates a treated result; a broken-looking image is not evidence that the source file has been corrupted.

How does it differ from JPEG Compression?

JPEG Compression uses JPEG Glitch alone. Damaged JPEG adds Glitch, texture displacement, Curves, and sharpening for a more layered result.

Can I control how much damage appears?

Adjust the JPEG Glitch controls and reduce the Glitch strength or texture-displacement amount. Change one layer at a time to see which one is hiding important detail.

Will lowering export JPEG quality produce the same look?

No. Export quality controls the saved file encoding. The preset creates the visible treatment before export, so you can also preserve that appearance in a PNG.
